MaxExcel – Load Asset Hierarchy – Part 2

Data comes from different sources and in different formats. The most popular format of data is Excelsheet where users often prefer to copy and paste Excelsheet content in Maximo, preview it and then load it in the most efficient way.

This article is one of a series that demonstrates how data can be easily loaded in Maximo from Excelsheet. Part 2 shows how the asset registrar can design the asset hierarchy on Excelsheet then paste it in Maximo saving the organization time and efforts of manual data entry/technical assistance.

While other solutions are available to load Excelsheet data in Maximo, they are either not user friendly requiring special format/processing/troubleshooting or demanding an advanced configuration/customization using a third party software. The following demonstration shows how asset registrar can copy and paste asset hierarchy from Excelsheet into Maximo in matter of seconds.

In this example, we configured the system to accept the asset, parent asset and location details where asset movement occurs within the same site. Based on the MaxExcel configuration, users may also load asset hierarchy using the child/parent presentation, reset the asset hierarchy or move assets across sites.
